[Also in Division F1] An hydraulic back-lash adjustor comprises a hollow body 18, Fig. 2, containing a reciprocable plunger 20 which has a projecting nose 34 containing an axially reciprocable member 44 in a passage 40 which communicates with a cavity 28, the plunger 44 restricting the oil flow to the nose 34 and having stop means to limit its travel and to retain the member within the passage. The stops are formed by a shoulder 46 and an apertured plate 42. In a modification the member has an annular flange (58), Fig. 3 (not shown) which is retained in a gap formed between the plunger and a shank portion of the nose. In a further modification the passage has a shorter wider section at its outer end and the member has an expanded outer end (64), Fig. 4 (not shown) and an expanded portion at its inner end. |
