PURPOSE:To provide the structure of an air bag device which is strong for the load in the vertical direction of the air bag device and can be moved for the load in the lateral direction due to the expansion of the air bag. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device is equipped with an air bag accommodation body 5 whose one edge is opened 4, air bag 8 which is accommodated in a folded state into the air bag accommodation body 5 and expanded and developed by the gas introduced inside, and a cover body 6 which covers the opened port 4, set contiguous to the opened port 4 of the air bag accommodation body 5 in the ordinary case and develops the opened port 4 of the air bag accommodation body 5 by the release of an engagement part 20 through the expansion of the air bag 8. On the engagement part 20, a hook part 21 which is shifted by the expansion of the air bag 8 is formed at either the opened port 4 of the air bag accommodation body 5 or the cover body 6, and an engagement part 22 which engaged with the hook part 21 in an ordinary case, and where the engagement with the hook part 21 is released by the shift of the hook part 21 is formed. |
