In a winder on which there are one or more yarn guides consisting of one or more gearwheels or gear segments, one of which is driven and at least one coupled by one or more parts to a guide track, other guide tracks being coupled on the opposite side, the movement of the guide track(s) is determined from the drive by a transmission mechanism.
