1285246 Vulcanizing rubber coatings COMPAGNIE LYONNAISE DE GENIE CHIMIQUE P LACOLLONGE 6 Feb 1970 [11 Feb 1969] 5711/70 Heading C3E Coatings of natural or synthetic rubber on tanks or other apparatus are vulcanized by heating the coating with a saturated or superheated vapour of a substance which at atmospheric pressure boils at above 100‹ C., which vapour condenses at the temperature selected for vulcanization of the coating. The coating may be contacted successively with water vapour, a mixture of water vapour and vapour of another substance, for instance, an alcohol, glycol or triol, and then vapour of a further substance. In one embodiment, the interior walls of a tank coated with, e.g., ebonite are vulcanized by treatment with water vapour and then an ethylene glycol/water vapour mixture. |
