A solid, synthetic compsn. for cleaning and conditioning the hair and the skin contains (A) a major amt. of a mixt of (1) strongly foaming anionic surfactant comprising a higher alkyl sulphonate or sulphate or single-ring aromatic sulphonate with a higher alkyl substit., and (2) an amphoteric surfactant, in molar ratio of (2):(1) of 2:1-1:2, and (B) less than 10 wt % w.r.t total compsn., of water-insol. silicone with viscosity 1,000-120,000 cP. (A) (1) The component is a higher (2-22C) alkyl sulphate, esp. Na lauryl sulphate, a higher alkylbenzene sulphonate or a higher alkyl sulphonate. (2) The component is an amido betaine of formula (I) esp. coco-fatty amido propyl betaine. R1 = 7-20 C (un)satd aliphatic gp.; R2, R3 = H, 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; R4 = divalent 1-4C alkyl. (B) the silicone has viscosity 10,000-100,000 cP, is used in amt. of 1-6 (2-4) wt. %, and is a poly di hydrocarbon siloxane, esp. poly dimethylsiloxane. The compsn. is in the form of bars, and may contain 20% of an alkali metal, Mg or NH4 10-18C-acyl isethionate, esp. Na coco-fatty acid isethionate, and 10% of a hydrotropic agent, esp. Na cumene sulphonate. ADVANTAGE - Softer, glossier hair and skin are obtd. The compsn. is non-irritating and may be used on the face. |
