<p>A temporary support structure (10) comprises a partition of upright members (11). Attached to the upper and lower ends of the upright member (11) are horizontal members including an upper cross member (12). A horizontal support member (15), typically of steel U-section is connected to a similarly formed deflection head (15). The deflection head (15) is temporarily attached to the partition (10) by way of threaded fasteners or the like (20) extending through the support member (15), the upper cross member (12) and an upper region of each upright member (11). Supported by support member (15) is steel decking (16) which may be corrugated. Above the steel sheeting (16) is concrete (17) of a floor. Once having served the purpose of temporarily supporting the floor (17) during construction, the screws (20) may be removed to allow settlement of the floor toward the upper cross member (12). A gap should always remain between the decking (16) and upper cross member (12).</p> |
