<p>The raw material comprises polyvinyl alcohol-based fibres and the web, which may or may not be crimped is treated with compounds with a carbonyl group. The treatment with these cpds. includes acetalization or ketonization which is conducted in the presence of a sulphonated oil or fat. Specifically a treatment medium is used which contains equal quantities by wt. of an aldehyde or ketone and sulphonated oil or fat. More specifically other fibres can also be present, e.g. those or rayon, or those which absorb little water, such as Nylon (RTM) or polyester fibres.</p> |
