The aq. soln. of pH 8.8-9.6, contains 4-15 wt. % of a higher alkyl amine oxide of formula: R1(R2)R3N right arrow O (where R1 is 12-20C alkyl and R2 and R3 are (hydroxy) 1-4C alkyl), 3-12 wt. % of a H2O-soluble foaming amphoteric detergent and 1-6 wt. % of a quat. NH4 salt of formula: R1.CO.NH.CH2.CH2N+(R2)3X-, R1(R2)2N+(R3)X- or (R1)2N+(R2)2x- (where r1 is 10-24C alkyl or alkenyl, R2 is (hydroxy)1-3C alkyl, r3 is (hydroxy)1-3C alkyl or Ph.CH2 and X is Cl-, Br-, PO3-4, dialkyl phosphate, methosulphate or CH3CO2-. There is 15-25 wt. % of these 3 components, together with 0.5-4.0 wt. % of mono- or di-ethanolamides or dimethylamides of 10-16C fatty acids. The compsn. is used as a hair conditioning shampo for cleaning hair that has been treated with hair spray. It has the advantage that, after washing, the hair is easily combable and does not require an antistatic creme rinse. |
