Continuous casting installation for metal sections is arranged such that the casting mould through which the metal runs, and which is mounted on a platform through which oscillation is imparted to the mould, can be easily and swiftly moved away from its working position, giving free access to the cross sectional infeed of the path into the cooling section of the plant. The movement is effected without the need for disconnecting any of the service connections to the mould and the platform. - In the preferred form the platform with the mould is mounted on an intermediate frame which forms a swivel arm which can be swivelled upwards round a horizontal axis mounted on the casting state, so as to swing the mould installation sideways out of the way. Thus free access is given to the plant underneath it, permitting easy installation of the starting head for the next casting run.
