1,229,533. Fluid-pressure control valves &c. SOC. D'ETUDES VERRIERES APPLIQUEES. 27 June, 1969 [2 July, 1968], No. 32490/69. Heading F2V. A valve has a pair of obturating discs 8a, 8b selectively movable on to a seat 5 and means 6 for urging the moved disc against the seat to close the valve, a closable opening 4d in the body permitting the other disc to be withdrawn. The body is made of thin sections of elastically deformable tube welded together while the discs are slidably mounted between elastic guide wires secured at their ends by soldered connections. A cover, such as that shown at 9, may be provided at opposite ends of the valve body to enable the disc 8a, as well as the disc 8b, to be replaced. Alternatively, the part 2 may be a T-piece provided with a removable cover. The movement of the means 6 may be produced by pressure fluid applied to a disc-shaped piston or to an annular piston 14, Fig. 5, provided with internal and external seals and providing a straight-through fluid passage. The part 6 is soldered to a plate 14 after location by a shim to ensure correct location to the valve seat 5. In Fig. 6, a disc 8b is operated by a bellows 24 and is replaced by the disc 8a after the latter has been disengaged from a lock 29 and connected by a clip 27 to the disc 8b. In a further embodiment, the discs are displaced by magnets controlled by fluid pressure or a screw or rack. |
