<p>Synthetic, pref. linear, polyester fibres and textiles are dyed with basic dyes in organic solvents, pref. halohydrocarbons, in the presence of a solubiliser and of a dye activator. Solubilisers have good solubility in solvent and dissolving power to dye and dye activator, and include alcohols, glycol (ethers), HCOOH, acetic acid, dioxan, ethyl acetate, dimethyl formamide and methyl pyrrolidone, and dye activators include nitroalkanes and nitroaromatics, 1-3C alcohols, acetic acid, pyridine, Na acetate, rhodanides. This is a quick process, the fibres are not damaged and a uniform colour is obtd.</p> |
