The filter consists of a number of cotton or similar fabric bags suspended inside a chamber with entry for dust-laden air or gas and exit for clean air. - To reduce wear and tear on the filter bags, the dust-laden air is first passed through a number of cyclones which separate the heavy dust particles before they reach the filter bags.
