The fabric is given a pre-shrinking treatment in a soln. of chlorinated hydrocarbons with a b.pt. >100 degrees C before the material is fed into the washing and drying processes. - The fabric is either passed through a U-shaped vessel filled with fluid, or sprayed from above to ensure the fabric is fully shrunk before washing. - The system allows the fabric to be carried through the finishing process on one conveyor system.
