A side dump box apparatus for mounting on a truck bed. Forced by a hydraulic cylinder, an open-topped container with a hinged dumping spout is tilted outwardly from the truck bed on a supporting frame pivotally connected to a fixed base. The container, which is pivotally connected to the supporting frame, then is rotated upwardly above said frame in order to dump its contents.
