Compounds (I) - (V):- where R and R' represent an alkyl radical contng. 1-6 carbon atoms, an alkanoyl radical (C 2-6) or a hydrocarbon sulphanyl radical provided that when one of R and R' is alkanoyl or hydrocarbon-sulphanyl the other can be hydrogen. In addition R and R' can be combined such that they represent the residue of a cycloaliphatic amine. X = beta-hydroxymethylene, beta-alkanoyloxymethylene, alkylenedioxymethylene wherein the alkylene portion contains 2-4 carbon atoms or a bisalkoxymethylene radical R" = an alkyl radical (C1-6) Dotted lines in the C-ring of the structural formulae indicate the presence of either a 8(9) or 9(11) double bond.
