Each half of the double-action clip swings through 45 degrees, with thepoint of the clip pivot pointing downwards. The sections fit into each other with locating and securing bolts, for the clip to exert the clamping pressure to hold them together during vulcanising in producing pneumatic tyres. the clips replace conventional sliding wedge dove-tail joints with their problems of lubrication and delays through heat action.
