PURPOSE:To simply color-match in a short time by providing means for measuring optical density, means for reading a measured position, means for obtaining a necessary ink regulating amount of each color from a difference of densities of a sample and a print, and means for displaying a measuring point, the necessary amount. CONSTITUTION:A measuring point of a proof sheet is set by a monitor, and its density is measured. A combination of obtained densities of (four) colors of black, indigo blue, red and yellow is converted to a combination of halftone % of the four colors from a table which displays relationship between a combination of halftone % of the four colors and a combination of densities of the respective four colors. The combinations of the halftone % and the densities are substituted in a relation formula of the halftone % and the densities of the respective four colors, and solid densities of the four colors are calculated. Then, the point of the print is matched to the proof sheet, and solid densities are similarly calculated. The print is compared with the proof sheet to obtain a difference of the solid densities of the four colors, the solid densities of it and the proof sheet are substituted in a relation formula of ink amounts and the solid densities of the four colors, and an ink amount difference, necessary regulating ink amount of the four colors are obtained, and displayed. |
