A process for the production of corrugated paperboard comprises passing a medium in the form of a flat sheet of paperboard through a corrugator and securing a flat liner to one or both surfaces of the corrugated medium wherein the corrugation is carried out at from ambient temperature up to below 320‹ F. and a lubricant is applied to both surfaces of the medium or portion thereof prior to corrugation whereby the coefficient of kinetic friction between the medium and the corrugator is less than 0.22. Specified lubricants are stearin and equal proportions of stearates and paraffin wax. The liner or liners may be secured to the corrugated medium by polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl alcohol adhesives. Specified paperboard materials are cardboard and paper. |
