1506793 Making tubular filters GIST BROCADES NV 1 April 1976 [8 April 1975] 13202/76 Heading B1D A method of making tubular filters comprises applying transverse stripes of adhesive e.g. through applicator L 1 to a strip of filter material, said stripes extending from one edge of the strip to at least half way across the width of one face of the strip, successive stripes being longitudinally spaced apart, folding the material e.g. in guide 6 parallel to the edges in such a way that one leaf is broader than the other applying a continuous stripe of adhesive e.g. through applicator L, to the inside of the projecting margin in such a way that it contacts the ends of the transverse stripes, folding the projecting margin 1 over the other margin 2 e.g. in guide G 2 and causing the inside face of the projecting margin to be adhered e.g. by heat and pressure device P to the outside of the other margin, with the cross stripes of adhesive securing the inside surfaces together. The strip may then be cut transversely at S to give a plurality of bags. The material may travel at 20 metres a minute and applicator L 1 may move diagonally L, to V, to give a straight adhesive line. The material may be non woven, the adhesive may be ethylene - vinylacetate copolymer. |
