The device for grinding or milling selected materials uses an upper grind stone and a rotating lower grind stone coupled to a drive shaft. There is a central feed aperture in the upper stone through which material to be ground is fed with a drive shaft within it. A miller device (36) is set in the region of the feed aperture (22) on the drive shaft (36). The cutters (38) of the miller (36) are arrayed on the periphery of the drive shaft (26) and run at right angles to the long axes of the shaft (26). At least one narrowing groove (24) is situated in the wall of the feed opening (32).
