<p>An arrangement for determination and display of instantaneous efficiency of motor vehicles is designed to operate without requiring drives or tappings from the engine, carburetor, or fuel pump. The driver is provided with a signal indicating inefficient vehicle operation. The device is cheap to produce and to fit to already completed vehicles. A signal is generated when the supply of fuel or fuel/air mixture exceeds a defined level and consists of an increase in the back-pressure on the accelerator pedal and/or an optical or acoustic signal. The increased back-pressure may be applied initially and the optical or acoustic signal is generated only upon further increase in fuel flow.</p> |
