<p>Machine has a pivoting bracket supporting three brushes. The angle of inclination of the bracket can be varied so that the cheese being treated rests with its flat face on one brush whilst its narrow edge contacts the other two. The first brush is in the form of a flat disc rotating in a plane parallel to the long axis of the bracket, and it is slightly eccentric to its shaft through which washing water is delivered. The two other brushes are located symmetrically beneath the first, on shafts at right angles to the long axis of the bracket, and a supply pipe sprays water on to the surface of one brush. Machine is of simple design and can be used for treating cheeses of different dias. and hardness without risk of damage. The effort exerted by the brushes, depending partly upon the wt. of the cheeses, can also be easily adjusted. A machine with a brush in the form of an endless belt is partic. suited to large size cheeses which are difficult to handle.</p> |
