<p>The maize harvester has a guide, supported above each ground level gathering member, to direct the upper part of the plant. This guide is made of rod material, formed into a loop (7) to which a carrier rod is attached. This loop is an open loop, with two guide prongs (3, 5) extending towards the direction of travel. Each prong slopes away from the other, and the centre line (a) of the gap (6) between them is offset from the central axis of teh loop. Both prongs slope downwards, and the prong (5) nearer the centre of the loop slopes downwards more steeply than the other prong (3) which is a tangent to the loop.</p> |
