<p>A method for recovering waste or discarded materials from sheathed cables or wires. The method comprises the steps of placing the components in a chamber (2) and arranging them on a carrier (8) provided with flow channels or the like; removing the oxygen from the chamber (2); heating the chamber (2) to the melting point of one of the materials so that the material flows out through the flow channels; collecting the molten material in a collecting trough (12) in which the temperature is no higher than said melting point; heating the chamber (2) to cause decomposition of the material remaining on the components; and, after cooling, recovering both the material in the collecting trough (12) and the materials remaining on the carrier (8).</p> |
