PURPOSE:To detect defective rice in rice grains by calculating the ratio of reflected light signal containing red light component to the reflected light signal not containing red light component by means of a comparator. CONSTITUTION:The lights entering photoelectric elements 9, 10, 11, 12 are converted into electric signals, namely the reflected ight signal RR containing red light component, transmitted light signal TR containing red light component, and transmitted light signal TR not containing red light component. The reflected light signal RR containing red light component and the reflected light RR not containing red light component are inputted into a first comparator 18, in which the ratio RR/R-R of both signals RR and R-R is calculated. Ant the result is outputted as first signal A, and is inputted into a subtracter 20 together with a first reference signal B from a first setting device 19, in which the subtraction A-B is calculated. If the result of this calculation is A-B>0, a first command signal G is outputted. |
