PURPOSE:To obtain a blast furnace iron notch-closing material excellent in long life, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance and capable of remarkably extending iron notch time by using a large amount of silicon carbide raw material without impairing sintering properties. CONSTITUTION:This blast furnace iron notch-closing material is obtained by kneading 100 pts.wt. of powder part containing 35-85wt.% of silicon carbon raw material containing 0.3-4wt.% of residual metal silicon, 2-16wt.% of a carbon raw material, 5-20wt.% of plastic clay powder and, as necessary, 5;50wt.% of other refractory material with 10-25 outer pts.wt. of a binder containing carbon. |
