Process and treatment plant for waste water purification

Waste water is to be purified in a round aeration tank with use of circulating aerators (9, 10). The circular flow in the aeration tank contents produced by the circulating aerators (9, 10) is, with the aid of radial barriers (12, 13) to be curbed in such a manner that the circular flow is wholly or mostly prevented. To avoid deposition of sludge even in the central area (21) of the aeration tank and to enable an optimal oxygen utilisation in the whole aeration tank, the curbing of the circular flow is only to be carried out in the outer edge region (20) of the aeration tank, so that the radial barriers (12, 13) are only provided in this edge region (20).
