<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a synchronous machine by disposing a contactor at the field side from an initial exciting thyristor and opening the contactor after confirming that the initial exciting thyristor is interrupted after establishing the voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a field breaker 2 is closed and a contactor 3 is subsequently closed, a pulse generator 4 operates to fire a thyristor switch 5, and an initial exciting current flows from a DC power source 7 to the field coil 6. When the terminal voltage Vg of the machine 1 reaches the Vg1, the first voltage relay 10 operates to energize an automatic voltage regulator 9. When the terminal voltage Vg of the machine 1 further rises to reach the Vg2, the second voltage relay 14 operates. At this time a thyristor switch 5 is extinguished by the output voltage of a thyristor rectifier 12 so that the thyristor switch defect detector 13 generates a signal, the contactor 3 is opened.</p> |
