PURPOSE:To provide a document processor capable of retrieving a character string over the plural operation areas of editing application. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 edits document data in which characters, graphics, tables, etc., coexist by starting character editing application and editing application other than the character edition such as graphic edition and tabulating edition in the same editing area with respect to plurally formed editing areas, and when plural of editing application and a character string to be retrieved are specified, the character string related to specification is retrieved from document dat in plural operation areas of the editing application related to specification, i.e., spreading over plural operation areas of the editing application. |
