NEW MATERIAL:The piperazine derivative of formula I (R<1> is H or lower alkyl; R<2> is aralkyloxy, 1-5C alkoxy, or 3-5C alkenyloxy; R<3> is H, aralkyloxy, 1-5C alkoxy, or 3-5C alkenyloxy; R<4> is H or 1-5C alkoxy; excluding the case that R<2> is 1-5C alkoxy and R<3> and R<4> are H) and its salt. EXAMPLE:1-(4-Benzyloxyphenyl)-2-(4-diphenylmethylpiperazinyl)ethanol. USE:A cerebral circulation improving agent. It has the activity to specifically dilate the peripheral vessel, especially the spondyl vessel to increase the blood flow rate, and the activity to supporess the coagulation of blood platelet. PROCESS:The compound of formula I can be prepared either by reducing the compound of formula II or by reacting the compound of formula III (R<5> is OH, etc.; R<6> is H, etc.; R<7> is H, etc.) with the compound of formula IV (R<8> is aralkyl, etc.; X is reactive group). |
