PURPOSE:To prevent coagulation caused by cooling or boiling due to vacuum, by a method wherein a specimen is comminuted under atmospheric pressure by a piezoelectric system while the fine specimen particles are introduced into an ion source by a shutter opened in synchronous relation to the injection of the specimen. CONSTITUTION:When a liquid specimen is supplied to a specimen chamber 33 from a specimen introducing pipe 36 and AC voltage is applied to a piezoelectric element 31, a pressure wave is transmitted to the specimen chamber 33 from a tank 32 and the specimen is injected from a jet nozzle 34 in a fine particle, state to reach an opening part 19 as mist. Because a shutter 21 is rotated in an ion source 2 and opens the opening part 19 in synchronous relation to the injection of the specimen, the liquid droplets of the specimen enter a specimen introducing part 2a. Because this specimen introducing part 2a is sucked from a vacuum exhaust pipe 28, air and solvent particles are diffused to be removed by a skimmer 17 while the specimen particles enter an ionization chamber 25 in a conc. state. The specimen liquid droplets introduced into the ionization chamber 25 are ionized by irradiating electron beam while ionized liquid droplets are introduced into a mass analytical apparatus from an ion beam emitting passage 27. By this method, the specimen can be ionized while continuously and efficiently sampling the same. |
