The subject of the invention is an apparatus having a playing block, which includes at least one fitting head (10) mounted on a neck-piece. The fitting head (10) comprises a cylindrical central part (11) and two end parts (12, 13) which project from the central part (11), have the shape of a truncated cone and extend on both sides of the central part in the longitudinal direction of the fitting head (10). One end part (12) is connected to the neck-piece (24) which has a smaller diameter than the end part (12). The fitting head (10) is octagonal in longitudinal section. It can be inserted into a recess (3) of another playing block. The recess (3) is groove-shaped and extends in a straight line in its longitudinal direction. It is open to the sides and upwards. Two sections (8, 9) are provided in the recess (3), in which sections (8, 9) the fitting head can be locked at different levels of the playing block. The outer section is designed in such a way that the fitting head (10) can be locked in different angular positions. <IMAGE>
