The double-walled sheet-metal element (for example a door leaf, panel element or the like) consists of two covering leaves which are of identical construction and are connected to one another by means of a fold-like connection, twisted through 180 DEG at least along their longitudinal edges. An internal limb (5) is formed on a longitudinal and/or lateral side of each covering metal sheet (1; 2), leaving a groove (6). A U-shaped end part (11) is formed on the other longitudinal and/or lateral side of each covering metal sheet (1; 2). When the element is joined together, the U-shaped end part (11) of each covering metal sheet (1; 2) is located inside the groove (6) of the other covering metal sheet (2; 1) in each case. <IMAGE>
