Acoustic decoupling medium

摘要

A matrix composition for acoustic transducers eg sonar transducers which improves their performance by reducing acoustic absorbtion. The composition consists of a cured resin including 15 - 45% by volume of hollow, resin walled microspheres and a densifying filler in sufficient volume to bring the acoustic impedance of the composition to within the range of from 1.1 x 10<6> to 1.9 x 10<6> kg/m<2>/S. Ceramic pegs may be embedded in the matrix to produce a sonar transducer.
