PURPOSE:To separate a code from received information data without requiring an electronic circuit, to simplify the constitution of a decoder, speeding-up and to improve reliability for-data by separating serial data received from a communication network by using an optical directional coupler, and shifting it between two waveguides. CONSTITUTION:When the intensity modulation of light is divided into a frame alignment signal FAS code, a bit rate allocation signal BAS code, and an encoding data part and furthermore, the identification of a binary signal is performed by the modulation of the light, the share of light quantity reduced as the result of transmission at long distance is amplified by using a light amplifier 1, and the data is transferred to the optical directional coupler 2. In such a case, the FAS code can be separated from the BAS code without requiring the electronic circuit by shifting the light between the two waveguides by a nonlinear light floating effect. In such a case, the clock of the communication network is used as that for information data, and it is used until the data is separated and outputted from a photoelectric converter 3. |
