PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefin (co)polymer excellent in stereoregularity and particle properties in an excellent polymerization activity, by (co)polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a specified Ti-containing solid catalyst component and an organometallic compound of a Group I-III metal of the periodic table. CONSTITUTION:A Ti-containing solid catalyst component (B) is obtained by contacting 1mol of an Mg compound (a) of formula I (wherein R<1-2> are each alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, and 2>=n>=0) with a mixture formula by mixing 0.01-10mol of an electron-donating compound (b) (e.g., ethyl benzoate) with 0.01-10mol of an Si compound (c) of formula II (wherein R<3> is R<1>) (e.g., tetraphenoxysilane) and 0.1-100mol of a Ti compound (e.g., TiCl4) so that the Ti content of the mixture may be 0.1-10wt% at room temperature to 200 deg.C for 0.5-4hr in the presence (absence) of an inert hydrocarbon. An olefin (A) is (co)polymerized in the presence of a catalyst system comprising component B and an organometallic compound (C) (e.g., triethylaluminum) of a Group I-III metal of the periodic table.
