PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a crack and its growing at the areas described below by providing a rubber layer reinforced by organic short fibers in an area from the shoulder portion of a tire tread to a bead portion out of an area between a tire outer layer and a body case. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire uses a complex of organic fiber code rubber, i.e., code/rubber complex for protecting a body case and for restraining strain concentration to the belt end and the ply end of a radial tire. In this case, a rubber layer reinforced by organic short fibers of average fiber length 3-100m/m is provided in an area between the shoulder portion of a tire tread and a bead portion out of an area between a tire outer layer and the body case for maintaining inner pressure. Namely, short cut code is arranged as at random as possible so as not to concentrate strain on the top ends of the codes by using long ones and not to allow easy mutual connections between the sections of the codes.
