PURPOSE:To enable heating of a liquid crystal display element and a fluorescence discharge tube with one heat generating member and to enable preventing thus simultaneously the delay of response speed of the liquid crystal display element at low temp. or deterioration of luminous efficacy of the fluorescence discharge tube by providing a heat generating member to between the liquid crystal display element and the fluorescence discharge tube, and providing also a light diffuse transmission plate on the surface at the side of the liquid crystal display element in the both surfaces of the heat generating member. CONSTITUTION:A transmissive liquid crystal element 2, a first light diffuse transmission plate 3, a heat generating member 4, a second light diffuse transmission plate 5, a fluorescence discharge tube 6, and a reflecting plate 7 are provided from the side of said display window 1a in order to the inside of a holder 1 having a display window 1a formed on the front surface. By passing electric current through a mesh heater formed in the heat generating member 4, the liquid crystal display element 2 and the fluorescence discharge tube 6 are heated through a light diffuse transmission plates 3, 5 provided facing oppositely to each other on the both sides of the heat generating member 4. By this constitution, both liquid crystal element 2 and fluorescence discharge tube 6 can be heated with one heat generating member 4, preventing the deterioration of the response speed of liquid crystal display element and luminance of fluorescence discharge tube due to low temp.
