PURPOSE:To automatically determine the aperture by providing an operating means which calculates such aperture on the basis of the extent of defocus that first and second objects are within the depth of field, a lens position storage means where the lens position is stored, and a defocus extent storage means where the extent of defocus is stored. CONSTITUTION:A photographer turns off a light measuring switch sw1 once and puts an object (a) at a short distance and an object (b) at a long distance in the photographic screen and turns on the light measuring switch sw1 thereafter to perform the operation for the third depth. Then, an operating means 2 reads out the extent of defocus stored in a defocus extent storage means 7 and calculates an intermediate position (c) based on the extent of lens movement corresponding to this extent of defocus by a prescribed rate, and a lens is moved to the intermediate position (c) by a lens driving means 4. Simultaneously, 7/17 of the extent of defocus is divided by 35mum least circle of confusion to calculate the aperture in case of which the object (a) at a short distance and the object (b) at a long distance are within the depth of field, and this aperture is displayed on a display means 8. Thus, the aperture is automatically determined. |
