摘要 Rotationally symmetrical small parts were hitherto produced from glass by press moulding, which is relatively time-consuming and is uneconomical for the mass production of such small parts. In addition, in the case of small parts produced by press moulding, an undesirable peripheral edge, caused by the material, can be seen. According to the process of the invention, the glass blanks 16 are roll formed in a freely supported manner, with a supply of heat, by means of two profiling rolls 14, 15 driven in the same direction of rotation with a correspondingly high speed. In the process, the glass blanks 16 have to have the same volume before their roll forming as the finished small parts 10. The heat supply takes place intermittently, only shortly before and during the roll forming of a glass blank 16, so that after conclusion of a roll forming, the finished small part 10 can be air cooled and as a result brought into a dimensionally stable state in which it is then ejected by means of an ejector 24 from the gap between the two profiling rolls 14, 15. <IMAGE>
