PURPOSE: To give a double or multiple frequency capability to a microstrip patch antenna. CONSTITUTION: A patch radiator 24 has an oblong shape in order to resonate with plural frequency levels, and a pair of slots 44 and 46 is added to a ground plane element 22. The slot 44 partially extends over the edge of the radiator 24 at one of both sides of a side edge 32 of the radiator 24, and the slot 46 partially extends over the edge of a radiator 29 at one of both sides of a side edge 36 that is orthogonal to the edge 32. Thus, the radiator 24 functions as a common radiation opening for the antennas against the radiation of each frequency. |
