A polyarylene sulfide resin composition comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin mainly comprising repeating units represented by the general formula: ? Ar - S ? (wherein Ar is an arylene group), and added thereto (B) 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a silicon compound haying a mercapto group represented by the general formula (1): wherein R is a C1~20 divalent aliphatic group and R1, R2 and R3 may be the same or different from each other and are each an alkyl, unsubstituted aryl or substituted aryl group, and (C) 0 to 400 parts by weight of a fibrous filler, an inorganic nonfibrous filler or a mixture of both of them.
