<p>PURPOSE:To impart plasticity to a single element by using an organic film whose resistance is changed when an electric field is applied and whose state is changed at different speeds when its resistance is changed from a high- resistance state to a low-resistance state and when its resistance is changed from the low-resistance state to the high-resistance state. CONSTITUTION:When an electric field is applied between a lower-part electrode 2 and an upper-part electrode 4 of a sandwich electrode for voltage application use, an organic functional substance 3 changes its state, and its resistance is changed. When it is arranged that a high-resistance state corresponds to '0' and that a low-resistance state corresponds to '1', the substance acts as a memory. Since a state of '0' and that of '1' are kept as they are as long as a reverse electric field is not applied, they acts as memories. The state of '0' is stable even when it is left for many hours; however, the state of '1' is changed to the state of '0' when it is left for several hours to several days; as a result, both states of '0' and '1' are not stable; the stored state of '1' is gradually changed to the state of '0'. Thereby, it is possible to impart plasticity to a single element.</p> |
