A b s t r a c t : (referring to Fig. 1) When tube bags (10) and similar packages are manufactured and filled with bulk material of awkward shapes, especially with potato crisps, the filling process is difficult because the pieces to be packed get caught on one another. For this reason, the invention suggests to shake or vibrate the tube bag (10) or a foil tube (14) for making this tube bag (10) at least during a phase of the filling process and in particular immediately therafter. This accelerates the filling process and above all frees the region where the closure seam (with bottom seam 20) is applied of any residues of the material to be packed. Shaking or vibration effects are generated by oscillation generators (29, 30) which are preferably operating according to the principle of a loudspeaker, i.e. which set an air column oscillating. These oscillations are then transferred to the foil tube (14) and the pack contents.
