<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an optically writing device which is reduced in thickness of optically writing head structure and in power demand and has no possibility that electrodes for phosphors other than those to be emitted may emit the phosphors unnecessarily. CONSTITUTION:As electron emission sources in an optically writing head, a plurality of small-size electron emission sources 5 made of individual electron sources of a field emission type or the like are disposed opposedly to small-size phosphors 4 arranged in an array form. At least either the small-size electron emission sources 5 or transparent electrodes 3 are selectively controlled on the basis of image information. A required voltage is applied to the electron emission sources 5 and the transparent electrodes 3 corresponding to phosphors 4 to be emitted.</p> |
