PURPOSE:To perform proper decision occurrence of a serious accident and to perform reliable operation of a passenger protecting device by providing a moving state deciding circuit to detect a movement distance of a human body and a collision deciding circuit to decide the occurrence of the serious accident. CONSTITUTION:When an impact is exerted on a vehicle and an acceleration signal (a) exceeding a given value is detected by an acceleration sensor 1, an output Q of a first comparing circuit 15 is brought into a high level. In which case, in a moving state deciding circuit 37, a switch 14 is turned ON, the output Q is inputted to integrating circuits 19 and 20 to operate factor circuits 21 and 22, and a signal by means of which movement of a human body is expressed is outputted from an addition circuit 23. When the output exceeds the threshold of a threshold circuit 29, one input of an and gate 30 is brought into a high level. When the acceleration signal (a) increased to a value exceeding a given value, in a collision deciding circuit 31, a third comparing circuit 17 is changed into a high level, an output from an FF 24 is brought into a high level, and the other input of the AND gate 30 is brought into a high level. When the two high levels are inputted, the AND gate 30 outputs a trigger signal to operate a passenger protecting device body 9. |
