TEXTURE MAPPING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To generate an image which is close to an actually taken picture by suppressing an error within a certain range by linear interpolation at the time of texture mapping. CONSTITUTION:The texture mapping device is equipped with an error evaluation expression calculation part 12 which calculates a an error evaluation expression from a coordinate conversion expression from a screen plane coordinate system to a projection plate coordinate system where a texture is to be mapped and a linear approximation expression linearly approximated to the coordinate conversion expression and a dividing process part 13 which evaluates the error evaluation expression calculated by the error evaluation expression calculation part 12 to divide a projection plane; when the maximum value of the error evaluation expression exceeds a predetermined permissible error, the projection plane is divided.
