The subject of the present invention is polypeptides having a nitrilase activity, as well as the genetic tools for producing them, namely: - the DNA sequence encoding a polypeptide having a nitrilase activity capable of hydrolysing nitriles to carboxylates, - an analogue of this sequence resulting from the degeneracy of the genetic code, - a DNA sequence hybridising with one of these sequences or a fragment thereof and encoding a polypeptide having a nitrilase activity, - expression cassettes and microorganisms permitting their production. Application: enzymatic conversion of nitriles to carboxylates. |
