PURPOSE: To optimize driving performance on icy and snowy road surfaces by asymmetrically shaping a tire tread pattern or disposing a plurality of sipes having opening characteristics in the circumferential direction in the inner shoulder block row and a plurality of sipes assuring block rigidity during lateral stressing in the outer shoulder block row. CONSTITUTION: This tire has a tread pattern shaped asymmetrically with respect to an equator line M-M and constituted of two shoulder block rows 1 and 1' and three center block rows 2, 2' and 2", which are interspaced by circumferential grooves 5 and are each provided with blocks circumferentially interspaced by lateral grooves 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b. Each block row 1, 1', 2, 2', 2" has circumferentially repeated pitches, and a separator line L-L is shifted outwardly of the equator line M-M only by 5 to 15% of a width B. The tire is mounted on a vehicle so that its tread pattern portion including the block rows 1, 2 and 2' is on the inner side of the vehicle and its tread pattern portion including the block rows 1' and 2" is on the outer side. |
