PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cell that can be used for a long time by extending the lifespan of the fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:In a fuel cell system for power-generating by electrochemical reaction between a fuel gas primarily consisting of hydrogen and an oxdizen gas through an acid electrolyte 10, nitrogen is contained by approximately 10mol ppm in the water formed by a fuel cell 5 or in the superfluous water in a reformer 2. It is found that the life of the acid electrolyte 10 of the cell 5 is shortened by the nitrogen, and the generated voltage of the fuel cell 5 can be stabilized for a long time by denitriding the water to be fed to a steam separator 20 for reform reaction by a denitriding module 16. The denitriding film separation module 16 is preferably set to the front step or the rear step of a water treatment equipment 15 employing an ion exchange resin, etc. Denitriding can be carried out by deaerating process using a separation film, deaerating process by heat evaporation, and vacuum deaerating process, etc. |
